Cristina Rivera Garza, author of the acclaimed novel Nadie me verá llorar (No One Will See Me Cry) will give the plenary address of the XIX Symposium on Modern Languages on Thursday May 1st at 5:00 p.m. in the Student Union Theater. Her talk is entitled: “My Own Private Borderline: Una visión personal de la frontera.” Cristina Rivera Garza has a Ph.D. in History from the University of Houston and has taught at different universities in both Mexico and the U.S. Presently she is the Felice Massie Distinguished Visiting Professor at the Department of Romance Languages & Literatures of Washington University, St. Louis, Missouri.
